First midwifery practice in Dronten

Since 2001 our midwifery practice is a familiar sight in the municipality of Dronten. Thanks to our years of experience and our warm, enthusiastic team, Midwives Dronten is the practice to which you can entrust your pregnancy. We would like to guide you during pregnancy and birth and make it a safe, enjoyable and special experience. Whether you are going to become parents for the first time or have a baby.

Experienced midwives

As midwives, we guide your pregnancy with great pleasure and passion. Our close-knit team consists of enthusiastic and experienced midwives. Because we work with a team of midwives, we can always rely on each other. Even when there are multiple deliveries at the same time, there is always someone there for you.

Personal care and attention

We are all midwives who find personal care important. We ensure that we have consultations every two weeks, so that we are always aware of every pregnant woman in our practice. When you call, we immediately know who you are. We also do everything we can to always meet your needs as much as possible. You can contact us with any questions, no question is crazy or too much. During every check we listen carefully to your wishes. In this way, we create a personal and medically responsible care path together.

Ultrasound scan and information evenings

We have our own Sonographers in house and have a pleasant collaboration with echocentrum GOUD echo. If you have been for an echo at GOUD echo, we will receive the report immediately so that we are always informed.

Information evenings

During your pregnancy it is possible to attend information evenings, with or without a partner. We give these information evenings ourselves and sometimes there is a guest speaker (for example a dietician, lactation consultant). We provide information evenings on topics such as breastfeeding, childbirth and... maternity week.

Want to have children

Do you have a desire to have children? And would you like to know how you can get pregnant as healthily as possible? You can also come to our midwifery practice for a consultation about your desire to have children, during which we will map out your situation and you will receive advice about becoming pregnant. Please call the practice for information!

Small-scale team

During your pregnancy you will come to us for a check-up every few weeks. This will take a little longer in the beginning, but at a certain point you will come every week. We think it is important that every midwife is always informed about your pregnancy, which is why we have consultations every two weeks. This way, the midwife who coincidentally hasn't seen you for a week is also informed. There are only 4 midwives in total, so you always get to know us well and don't always see a new face. It was also great to know that we could have our appointments in English (English speaking mother and Dutch speaking father).Each interaction from the first appointment to the last was warm, welcoming, and we always felt that they had time for us and for our questions, as well as being comforting when needed. As a couple who had to go through the long and difficult process of IVF, this felt even more important to us. It was great to see that any concerns they had were quickly acted upon. We did not feel like part of a conveyor belt service.The day of the birth was a very positive experience for us. They were quick to visit and provide guidance at home once the waters broke, and once we were in advice labor, they arrived quickly to ensure a quick and safe birth. The immediate aftercare of mum was amazing. Taking quick steps to ensure everything was under control in a calm and controlled manner, we felt mum and baby were well looked after. Dad felt secure with the birth as well.Should we ever be lucky enough to go through another pregnancy, we would only ever wish to be cared for by midwives Dronten again.

They take their time for you and listen carefully to your wishes. They always try to take this into account, which gives a nice and familiar feeling. The idea that you will see someone you already know during the birth, gave us a solid foundation of trust. This was especially reassuring for my partner, who also found it all exciting. They even came by with a homemade maternity gift that touched me and my partner deeply. Midwives Dronten is an absolute must for us for anyone who wants to go through a pregnancy process with confidence and warmth.

If you meet a different midwife the next time, she knows exactly what was discussed before. Since the beginning of my pregnancy I have received the sweetest and best care from the ladies at Midwife Dronten. At the beginning of my pregnancy I had many concerns about the health of my baby and I was always allowed to come by after a phone call to listen to the heartbeat, which gave me peace of mind. In a short time there were a number of new colleagues, which took some getting used to, despite this the care was just as warm. I was nervous about who would be present at the birth, but because I ultimately had a medical birth, unfortunately no midwife from the practice could be present.
