Maternity week

Postpartum: checks and guidance

After your birth, you can enjoy your baby together and get to know each other, but it is nice to still receive good care, guidance and support. In addition to the help you receive from the maternity nurse, we will also assist you during the maternity period.

Visits during childbirth

Verloskundige dronten-42

The postpartum period lasts 10 days and begins after delivery. During this period we visit your home several times to check how mother and child are doing and of course also with you as a family. We tailor the number of visits to the course of the maternity period and your needs.
If you have to stay in the hospital after the birth, we will receive a message as soon as you return home. We will then visit you for the first time the day after you return home.

In the first period after birth you will also receive: maternity care.

Medical checks and advice for the maternity period

During our visits we perform medical checks, we can give advice about your baby's nutrition, and there is plenty of time to ask your questions and discuss the delivery.

If everything goes well with you after the first week, we will conclude the care. We then transfer the care to the clinic and the GP.

Follow-up check 6 weeks after delivery

After the maternity period, you can of course still contact us with obstetric questions. During the first 6 weeks you can always call us with questions or other matters, after which we will refer you to the clinic and your GP.
We would also like to see you back at the practice 6 weeks after birth for a follow-up check.

Register for maternity bed

Have you been monitored by a gynecologist during your pregnancy and delivery due to a medical indication? We would also be happy to visit you to guide you through the maternity period. You can register below for a so-called 'separate maternity bed' or you can call our practice.

Are you under supervision in the hospital? We are happy to come to your home after the birth for maternity visits. Sign up below.
